Melissa Thierry, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology since 2012. She provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic Dermatology care. Since December 2017 Melissa has worked in Pascagoula Mississippi where she served as the lead Physician Assistant at Garrott Dermatology and mentored Physician Assistant students from the University of South Alabama. Prior to this role, Melissa spent five years at Tidewater Skincare & Pathology in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she completed an intensive, year-long training program, including advanced surgical techniques with a Moh’s surgeon.
Melissa earned her Master of Health Science degree from the University of South Alabama in 2012. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Grand Valley State University, where she graduated with honors from the Fredrick Meijer Honors College in 2009 and consistently made the Dean’s List. Additionally, Melissa expanded her global perspective through a Spanish immersion program at Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao, Spain.
As a Diplomate of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, Melissa stays actively involved in professional organizations, including the Alabama Society of Dermatology Professionals and the Mississippi Academy of Physician Assistants. Her training includes certifications in advanced injector techniques, such as EPIC Injector Training and Aesthetic Advancement programs, reflecting her commitment to staying at the forefront of dermatologic care.
Melissa lives on Fowl River with her husband and two children, Lillian and Levi, and enjoys all things water and boating related. She grew up in West Michigan but has become a “southern transplant” since moving down south in 2010.
“Caring for my patients and helping them feel comfortable in their skin is the most rewarding part of my job,” said Melissa when asked to say a few words about her position. “I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a field that allows me to combine medical expertise with a focus on patient relationships, and I’m always striving to grow as a provider.”
